I’ve tried out a lot of different morning rituals over the course of my life — waking up early to work out, meditate, read, or do yoga.

I’ve even tried sun adorations. They go something like this:

Hail unto Thee who art Ra in Thy rising, even unto Thee who art Ra in Thy strength
Who travellest over the Heavens in Thy bark at the Uprising of the Sun
Tahuti standeth in His splendour at the prow, and Ra-Hoor abideth at the helm

Those routines don’t last very long for me. Honestly, the primary thing that I’ve learned through all of these attempts is that regardless of what I do, morning and I don’t get along.

I’m much more of a night person, you see. Night is quiet and calm. Mornings are loud and busy.

And mornings are always tired. To combat this, for years, I made coffee.

But now I just grab a water bottle and start writing.

In fact, it’s morning right now and I’m writing this post, which means that to some extent, my morning today is being utilized to tell you about how I do not like mornings.

Isn’t that poetic?

What are your morning rituals? What does the first hour of your day look like?

Good morning and happy Monday, friends.

And happy April Fool’s Day. Don’t worry, there will be no pranks today.

This past week was filled with things! I posted two articles — one that continues the SMF spotlight series with the Triple Butterflies and another that was a write-up about singing bowls.

But more importantly, Episode 9 is in the works! I finished an interview with Christopher Penczak a few days ago and it was quite a wonderful chat. The unedited footage is up on Patreon for supporters, but I’m actively working on cleaning it up to get it posted for everyone else.

With this episode, I decide to pursue learning a more advanced video editing software. I’ve switched from iMovie to DaVinci Resolve. Accordingly, I’ve been watching hours and hours of tutorial videos, gaining at least 1000 experience points and 3 levels each day.

I made three short videos. Two are highlights from Deborah Lipp’s interview (talking about alchemy and heartbeat rhythms) and the other is a sped up shot of brewing tea. I just couldn’t stop watching the tea video. Butterfly Pea Flower tea, I have recently been taught by one of our coveners, is the coolest thing ever.

I know I said this last week, but there are some really fun things in the works. Don’t worry, I’ll announce them soon.

Oh, and guys, guess what? My YouTube channel finally broke 200 subscribers. That’s cause for rejoicing.

And you know what else? This website will turn 1 years old in a few days. I’m very curious to see what I’ve accomplished in that amount of time, so I’m sure I’ll do an annual review next week and let you know the highlights.
