About the Elder Runes
My runes are hand carved from birch. Each one has a distinct personality and message. There are 24 unique symbols with one blank to represent the unknowable (sometime’s called “Wyrd”).
One single rune can be pulled from the bag for a quick reading or multiple runes can be laid out into a spread. They can also be combined with other methods of divination, like Tarot cards, Oracle cards, pendulums, or dice.
In my style of divination, runes are very much concerned with “present” energy. I feel that I read rune spreads in a rather unique way. Most practitioners will neatly line them up in cookie-cutter rows and columns, similar to a tarot spread. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that and it works for most people, but I prefer to dowse the entire rune set, grab a handful and cast them on the table in front of me. By looking at how the runes fall, their angles, and the negative space around them, I can see an entire 3-dimensional landscape and really get a sense of what is affecting your energy in the now.
