In general, I’m a pretty easygoing person, but that doesn’t mean I turn a blind eye to the problems going on in the world today. Between inflation and politics alone, there’s enough to keep pretty much everyone busy complaining about things for the rest of their lives.
If we can turn the spotlight away from those obvious issues for just a few moments, however, I think I’ve really hit a bullseye on four problems that are truly wrong with the world.
And to help illustrate my points, I’ve elected to allow AI to generate visuals for me.
- Dog-earing pages in books

Hmm… perhaps a bit too literal?
I suppose if my dog-eared pages look more like the above image, they’d be less annoying, but seriously… you’re ruining the book. Get a bookmark.
- Pouring milk in first before cereal

I don’t know about you, but I always hold the milk in my hands like this
There is a clear order of operations when preparing cereal and it goes like this
- Pour cereal
- Pour milk
Violation of this order goes against universal principles.
- Improperly-wound cables

Well, at least my cables don’t ever look like this
When I was a kid, my dad taught me how to wind cables using the “under/over” method. It takes a little while to get the hang of, but doesn’t damage the wires, which is especially important with chargers or instrument cables. I sometimes physically cringe when I see cables being balled up or tied in knots.
- The phrase “in this day and age”

This writing is… unclear…
I write a lot. And I read a fair bit. In this day and age, there’s just better verbal options for…
Oh no, I broke my own rule.
This message will now self destruct.
Good morning and happy Monday, friends!
Selene and I just got back from Disney World. This time we went to Hollywood Studios and stayed at the French Quarter resort. The best part was that we were able to leave in the middle of the day to go back to the hotel and take a nap, which means I hated it a bit less than our regular Disney experiences.

Always have to take that quick selfie at the iconic photo ops.
Some of the Star Wars memorabilia was interesting to see… you know, if you’re a total nerd. And we are.

But enough about Disney…
Last week, I finally got the writeup finished for Alexander Cabot’s interview. That’s Episode 2. I’ve got Jack Chanek’s interview in my editing software right now, which is Episode 3… and I’m schedule to talk to Opal Luna later this week, which will be Episode 4. I’m pretty excited about this season so far!
I posted a couple of short videos and you can check them out here if you’d like.
I sent the first half of my book to Crossed Crow last week. It’s a little over 30,000 words. That’s more words than I’ve ever written about any single topic… and it’s only half the book! I’m excited to be working on the second chunk now and I’ll be even more excited to have a full first draft finished.
We’ve also been continuing to work on our Kyphi, which I talked a little about on Patreon last week. This time it got pretty intense! Tons of grinding herbs, cooking, and waiting. So far, here’s where I’m at…

Drying my Kyphi… and yes, I know what it looks like…
Selene and I used slightly different recipes for our batches, so I’m sure we’ll have some interesting notes to compare when everything is said and done. After another day or two of drying, I think I’ll be able to pinch it into tiny balls, coat it in some powder (I’m thinking a mix of resins and sandalwood), and let it set for the final cure. It’ll take a while, but I’m really looking forward to testing it out and seeing what it smells like.
That’s all for today my friends. I’ve got a bunch of other things that I’m working on… so as always, stay tuned for more!
