I know what you’re expecting me to write. By now, you’re thinking my answers almost always revolve around music.
What brings me joy? Music. What hobbies do I enjoy? Music. What do I find interesting? Music.
Music, music, music.
So for today’s answer on what brings me peace, naturally you thought you’d open this and see the same old answer. Maybe you expected to hear how I like to put on noise-canceling headphones and blast Yo-Yo Ma’s renditions of cello suites while in crowded retail environments. Or maybe you thought there’d be an interesting anecdote about playing guitar by the ocean and feeling a sense of oneness with the universe.
Guess again, nerds.

You know what really brings me peace? Re-watching episodes of Star Trek. And while I’m always up for any version of that universe, I’m most partial to The Next Generation franchise.
Where else can you find a world where every problem has a solution and bad humans are the rare exception?
Also, in case this ever comes up for any reason:
Picard > Sisko > Janeway > Archer > New Kirk > Old Kirk
Now you know.
Good morning and happy Monday, friends.
School has started once again this morning, so please take a moment of silence with me as we mourn the loss of summer and quietly contemplate our driving routines.
Thank you. That was powerful. I really felt that.
This past week has been non-stop. I put out a myth-related article on the Dagda and his magickal harp, Uaithne and have been continuously dabbling in website maintenance.
I’m also *this close* to finishing up the video I started a few months ago on binaural beats. I had to learn a ton about video editing to do this one because it requires animated graphics.
Later this week, I’ll be interviewing Alexian. I’ve got the next… three months of guests booked!
Oh, and mark your calendars for September 21! I’ll be playing a short concert at Pagan Pride in Sunrise, FL hosted by the Grove.
Opal Luna and I chatted about the Grove, among other things, for a bit during her interview a couple of weeks ago. I’ll have that video released soon as the latest episode of M3.
There’s also games, a workshop, ritual, and more!

In mundane news, we tried a new pizza place.

And yes, in the last picture, there is a slice of pizza underneath all of that pasta. That’s kind of their thing — they pile a bunch of stuff on top.
Here’s what I learned: I’m not really a fan of Detroit-style pizza. Actually, I already knew that, so I guess it was just reconfirmed. I love Chicago and NY pizza, but Detroit always leaves me feeling unsatisfied.
And last but not least, check out our new garden friend.

I think it’s a North American Racer, but I’m not a snake expert. I hope she comes back!
Stay tuned for more!
