It’s important to always keep learning, regardless of how old you are, what type of work you do, or how you spend the bulk of your time. Learning itself is a skill, and I feel like the more you consistently learn, the more easily you are able to continue learning in the future.
If you follow my updates or pay attention to the type of content I frequently release, then you’ve probably noticed that I’ve put out quite a few videos over the past year. I also switched over from using iMovie (consumer-level software) and started using DaVinci Resolve (professional-level software).
If you’re not familiar with those two pieces of software, then let me tell you that iMovie is the equivalent of Garage Band and DaVinci Resolve is the equivalent of Pro Tools or Ableton. And… okay, if you’re not familiar with those either, then it’s like the difference between Paint and Photoshop.
Here’s a comparison of the two…

iMovie

DaVinci Resolve
Every single video is a learning experience.
And each time, I just try to do one thing better, whether it’s something about the color grading, audio, transitions, lighting, or even just how to do those things the same way, but more efficiently. It’s all been quite a learning process so far, but I can say I’m enjoying it (on the whole).
Good morning and happy Monday, friends.
It’s been a busy week! As I’m sure you may have seen by now, probably due to my numerous updates about it, I released a new song. It’s called “O Come Returning Sun King” and you can read all about it or watch it here.
I’ve only got a couple weeks left to finish the first draft of my book, so it’s crunch time. Plus, it’s the end of December, so the rest of the month is going to be packed with holiday events.
Current word count? 72,575. Higher than I was originally shooting for, so… yay?

I also plan on having DuQuette’s interview released within the next couple of days… plus there’s going to be a special bonus episode this month — and here I thought I was done interviewing for the season.
Selene and I wrapped some gifts. There will be more.

And we made an elderberry tincture during ritual on Saturday night. We’ll need all the immune boosters that we can get to make it through this cold and flu season unscathed!

We do a gift exchange in our coven each year that we call The Mysterious Odin Gift Exchange. It’s kind of like a Secret Santa, but cooler. Anyway, I received my gift a couple days ago and it is a really cool LED light wand. Yes, it does kind of look like a lightsaber. My intention is to use it in the background of video shots, but we also discovered it was a very handy way to light the ritual area.

In the upcoming week, we’ll be celebrating Yule, then dashing off to the other side of the state to visit Selene’s family.
Also noteworthy, I’m finally teetering around 500 subscribers on YouTube, so that’s a nice milestone.
That’s all for now! Stay tuned for more!
