Music is one of the greatest tools for instantly transporting us to another time, feeling, place, or season.

I’ve got several songs that give me a sense of nostalgia. For me, there’s no memory or specific thoughts attached to these, just a deep feeling when I hear them. I figured I’d share some with you.

One Headlight – The Wallflowers

In the End – Linkin Park

Cello Suite No. 1 – Yo Yo Ma

Scapegoat – Atmosphere

All These Things That I’ve Done – The Killers

Eleanor Rigby – The Beatles

The Scientist – Coldplay

Like a Stone – Audioslave

All great songs.

Now… why do they make me feel nostalgic? I couldn’t tell you. They just do.

It’s different for everyone. What sounds nostalgic to me probably doesn’t feel nostalgic to you.

What are your most nostalgic songs? Do you have any specific memories attached to them? Or do they just envelope you in feelings?

What makes you feel nostalgic?

Good morning and happy Monday, friends!

It’s almost time to say goodbye to 2024! This will be my last post of the year. At next week’s update, we’ll have started 2025. And I sure can’t wait to look back and see all of the crazy things that have happened. That also means I’ve had one solid year of sending you these Monday posts every week, without fail… so if you’re still with me at this point, I appreciate you.

Big news, y’all… I submitted the first FULL draft of my book. I have mixed feelings of both relief and terror. Relief because it’s a good chunk of something that is finished… terror because I don’t know what the response will be for revisions from my publisher. We’ll just have to wait and see!

Loki always loves the holidays.

This past week, obviously, was Christmas, so if that’s something you celebrate… I hope you had a great one! I got some great gifts… like some books, a pair of teacups, and a mouse for my MacBook.

Check out these teacups, though.

Selene and I went out for a nice Christmas dinner and had some pasta.

The day after Christmas, we went over to downtown West Palm Beach, met up with some friends, and saw Sandy… Sandy is a giant tree made out of sand, by the way.

Last week, amongst all the holiday festitivies, I finished the written highlights of Lon Milo DuQuette’s interview.

I’m wrapping up some edits to the next episode of M3 with Sara Mastros and Marco Felgueiras. It’ll definitely be an interesting one! Testing that waters of having multiple people in a video chat.

And finally… Selene and I have spent the last few days making soap. It’s been a lot of fun… and also quite laborious. No pictures yet, though… you’ll have to wait another few days until we unmold!

That’s all for now! Stay tuned for more!
