When I was 2 or 3 years old, I broke my thumb.
I was told that I took a dive after jumping off a piano bench. Apparently, I landed on my thumb. I don’t remember any of that, but I did keep the cast for several years. It’s the only time I’ve ever broken a bone.
I guess I’ve just always wanted to take music to extreme levels.
Good morning and happy Monday, friends!
If you haven’t already, go and check out some of the latest news in modern day Alchemy, where lead was literally changed into gold — at least for a brief moment. You can read my summary article… or watch this short clip if you’ve only got about 60 seconds to spare.
I’ve been trying out some different things this week. Firstly, I’ve been going back through some of my most popular articles from the past couple of years and putting audio to them. If that sounds interesting to you and you like to listen to things, then you can check out this new podcast series — no frills, just me and my voice.
I’ve also been recording short book reviews for my YouTube channel. I think I’ll just go through my shelves and share about 5 minutes on books that I enjoy. I have four videos in this series completed so far and the playlist can be found here or on the homepage of my channel. If you’d like to make a request for what I review next, feel free to shoot me a message. And if you’re an author that would like your book reviewed, let me know.
It’s been a crazy week. Not just because of the all the random content I’ve been trying to pump out, but also because we had back-to-back rituals over the weekend.
On Friday evening, we had our coven’s full moon circle. One of our coveners stepped up and lead ritual with me for the first time — super proud of her! We did quite a bit of magick and then hung out until late in the night… almost early morning.

On Saturday, Selene and I drove to our mother coven and took part in an initiation. I guest-priested for the ritual. (Yes, sometimes “priest” is a verb, right?) It was pretty much an all-day affair — initiations are like that, but I have to say it went on without a hitch. Honestly, though… post-initiation… energy levels for me drop significantly for a few days. I was telling Selene earlier that it feels like someone threw my body up against a brick wall. Happens every time.
But on a brighter note, I received this really cool crystal as a gift.

We also had a prison visit scheduled for the weekend, but received an email from the chaplain that the whole facility was on lock-down. At least he told us before we got there! We’ve encountered this several times… and occasionally don’t find out until after we’ve driven the entire way and arrived on-site. It’s okay though… those extra hours allowed us some much-needed time to rest… and our rested selves were able to have a little visit with some friends that we haven’t seen for a good while…
I think sometimes we just have too much on our plate and the universe is like “hey, take a break, I’m going to remove this item from your agenda.”
Earlier in the week, I released Byron Ballard’s interview. We had a great conversation! I also recorded an interview with Anthony Rella, the author of Slow Magic, so you can expect to see that soon.
It might sound like I’m tired and need a break, but there’s no time for resting! Here’s what’s coming up soon.
On Wednesday, I’ll be livestreaming with Christiana Gaudet. We’re going to talk about runes.
Next month is Summer Magick Fest, where I’ll be teaching a class on dark mirrors.
And then … right after that, my class series starts!

If you haven’t checked it out, please give it a look! There’s some time left to register.
Well, that’s all for now… but stay tuned for more!
