This is your regular reminder that self-care often means doing absolutely nothing for a bit.

For those of us who have infinitely-long to-do lists, sometimes the block of nothingness needs to be officially added to the calendar.

But it’s easy to feel bad about that hour (or evening… or day… or weekend) of downtime. It’s easy to think to yourself, “self, I should really be doing things right now!”

Nope, you should be doing no things. You need to rest.

Are you stuck on a problem? Take a break!

The solutions to certain problems will only become evident during rest. When your mind isn’t actively engaged, it can form new connections. It’s scientific.

I don’t know who needed to hear this, but someone did. Maybe me. Who knows.

How do you practice self-care?

Good morning and happy Monday, friends!

This past week was a pretty big deal. I kicked off the start of The Witch’s Toolkit series with the first class, Harnessing the Power of Sound. If you missed it, don’t worry! It was recorded. And you can still participate in the next two live sessions!

Other new things…

Selene and I attended two summer solstice circles over the past few days. They were both very flowery! For our coven celebration, one of our students stepped up and wrote her first ritual… and it went great! We were very proud of her.

We started packing books for prison ministry pretty much as soon as we got back from Summer Magick. One shipment of supplies has already successfully made its way to a new home… and we have paperwork pending to send more out soon!

That’s all for outbound packages today… but what about inbound?

Well… I got a copy of Coby Michael‘s newest book, The Poison Path Grimoire.

Very excited to give it a read soon! If it’s even half as good as the first one, there will be no room for disappointment.

I also got a new set of singing bowls.

Actually, I’ve gotten several really interesting things in the mail this past week. You’ll probably see videos about most of them soon.

On Saturday, we stopped by the spice store and smelled jars of spices and teas.

I encountered one jar called “Dill Pickle Sea Salt,” which I decided to inhale deeply. Terrible, terrible mistake. It burned my nostrils. I fear I still haven’t recovered.

And on Sunday evening, we took the kids out and got some Chinese food. Here’s my fortune…

Alright, I am prepared! I wonder what new talents I’ll discover!

Well, in the meantime… as I await for these talents to unveil themselves, I’ll be working on the next episode of M3. I’m hoping to have it out in just a couple days!

I think that’s all for now… but stay tuned for more soon!
