Something about midnight always makes me feel extra snacky.

Mini muffins are a fine choice. Cheez-Its make wonderful bedtime food. But recently it’s been all about the panettone. We have to enjoy these fine holiday treats while they last.

In the morning, however, I do not snack. In fact, I rarely eat breakfast. And if I do grab something before lunch, it’s usually just to munch on a cherry tomato or two.

What snack would you eat right now?

Good morning and happy Monday, friends!

Alright. I’ve made an executive decision for my own sanity. I will only be releasing new articles here every other week. I had a really great year in 2025 where I managed to churn out posts with surprising regularity, but the whole process of writing books has really taken up most of my bandwidth.

Plus, my Spring semester just started this morning and it looks like I’m going to have a lot of schoolwork to focus on.

Yay. Homework.

Don’t worry, the frequency of my Monday posts won’t change. You’ll still hear from me each week about what I’ve been up to for the previous seven days. I won’t deprive you of that.

Before we get too much farther, here’s a picture of Loki.

Because I know you needed a cat pic.

Selene and I had a prison ministry visit on Saturday. I have to admit, it always feels like such a drag to wake up early and then drive an hour to get there, but it’s also always so rewarding once we’re there any actually doing it.

I made a bunch of Brigid’s crosses for Etsy orders. I suppose it’s seasonal, Imbolc is coming up after all. If you’d like to learn how to make one yourself, by the way, you can follow along with this video that I made.

We also took a quick trip to the eye doctor. I got some new spectacles. Although I am not blind, taking the vision tests made me feel like I was.

Hopefully they come in handy because I have a lot of reading to do. For instance, I received a typeset preview of my book to read through.

Receiving that was quite an exciting experience for me. In a couple of months, there will be real, physical copies. Crazy! If I can share a few more pics from the preview, I will — but I’m not sure yet if I’m allowed to do that.

And there was more sushi.

My gods, was there more sushi.

I tried a bunch of things for the first time, too. One of those things was mackerel.

Mackerel is one of the worst things I have ever tasted in my life. On the bright side, I now more fully understand the phrase “Holy mackerel!” as a substitute expletive… because mackerel is terrible.

Anyway, that’s all for now. I have to return to book writing.

Stay tuned for more soon!
