I don’t have a favorite quote, but here’s a good one:

“It is impossible for a man to learn what he thinks he already knows.” -Epictetus

Gotta love that stoic wisdom, right? Of course, the original quote was in Greek and the line above is just a common English translation… but I think it still gets a valuable point across.

When we’ve already made up our mind about a topic, it often prevents us from acquiring new information. If we have too much pride for what we “know,” then we’ll stay ignorant.

It’s always fun to challenge our preconceptions, isn’t it? Relearn. Reevaluate.

And hopefully… be better for it!

Good morning and happy Monday, friends!

I hope everyone had a blessed Lammas and ate some bread or something. I’m kind of struggling to mentally reconcile how it’s August. Oh well.

Last week, I did promise you a new episode of M3, right? Well, I delivered!

Heron Michelle joined me for a fabulous conversation on Elemental Witchcraft. I also got a sneak peak at her upcoming release, Lunar Witchcraft, so I’ll be inviting her back for another conversation about that in the near future (but that will have to wait until I finish reading—it’s quite a big book!)

The next M3 episode will feature Nicholas Pearson. I shall have the Patreon pre-release version ready soon… hopefully this week. Also, I know I’m really behind in my write-ups for all episodes, as well as in posting any article-based content here in general. Please bear with me. It’s been a year.

I took my last history test and I’m wrapping up my Summer semester. I kind of wish there was a break between now and fall, but I guess that’s what I get for taking Summer classes.

Here’s some Peruvian food.

Selene and I went to the most excellent sushi restaurant last week. They make each piece right in front of you, set it on your plate, and you eat it immediately. Repeat that 12 times. It was amazing. I actually took some video of one of the chefs (he did say he loved it when people took videos) and I think I’ll be sharing it in a short later on this week.

I really do enjoy sushi. And if you follow my posts, then you probably know that this is a recent discovery from sometime within the past year. The thing is, I only enjoy certain sushi—that is to say, there’s plenty of sushi options that just kind of terrify me.

Well, I’m proud to report that I consumed every piece of our 12-course omakase experience. I was very brave. I even ate the giant roe, although that is one part of the evening that I hope to never repeat. (How the hell do people enjoy that???)

This weekend was pretty crazy. We all drove to Orlando to visit my family. We ended up attending this luau performance thing.

There were people fire dancing and stuff.

Honestly, it made me really miss my fire poi.

Lots of driving! After we got back last night, we stopped in and tried a new Indian restaurant.

It was delicious and I saved some leftovers for lunch today, which I’m looking forward to.

Aside from that, I’ve got a few other videos I’m working on. Hopefully you’ll find them entertaining. I’ll share them when I’ve made more progress.

That’s all for now, but stay tuned for more soon!
