Our city (and the surrounding area) has a lot of noteworthy things. We’ve got good restaurants, parks, beaches, and plenty of shopping.
But sometimes what seems most glaring is what we don’t have. There’s not a lot of art, for instance. And if you’re trying to find live music, you’ll be hard-pressed.
Well, what we lack in culture, we certainly make up for in golf courses and country clubs, right?
Still… I certainly do have some favorite spots. One in particular that comes to mind this morning is a small park near our house with an edge on the intercoastal. Across the water, you can see the city of Palm Beach. I love cityscapes. It’s calm and peaceful, especially at night. Selene and I have had a few dinner picnics there.
Good morning and happy Monday, friends.
It has been a long week, has it not? If you know me, then you know that I usually refuse to talk about politics in social situations. In my opinion, it’s one of the most divisive things in existence… easily turning friend against friend.
However, I’ll break that rule today. As my wife points out, we’re no longer dealing with a divide between simple party lines. At this point, the divide deals with basic human rights… and it means either having them or not having them.
I’ll take a wild guess that most of you who subscribe to my mailing list are, like me, disappointed in the election results — perhaps just disappointed in America. A lot of people are hurting, scared, or angry right now, some more than others. I see you.
Hopefully you’ve given yourself space to acknowledge and experience that pain over the past few days. If not, please do so now. Because it’s time to channel all of the collective hurt into something else.
If you feel called to activism, great! Do it. Don’t make excuses. Don’t sit around. Start now while the wound is still fresh. Find a cause and put work into it.
If you don’t feel called to that sort of thing, that can be great, too. There’s plenty of ways that you can still make an impact… even down to the simplest of actions like bringing joy, comfort, or peace to another human who needs it.
If you are an artist, create. If you are a musician, play. If you are a writer, write. If you have a voice, use it.
The point is… just do something. Don’t stew. Don’t stagnate. Don’t get lost.
Remember to laugh and remember to love.
Most of all, just please remember to take care of yourself. Take a break from social media if you need one. I promise you that all the political posts and commentary will still be there when you come back.
Anyway, let’s recap other events…
Last week, I wrote a post aimed at seekers. It answers some general questions about witchcraft and things like trying to find a coven.
Laura Perry’s episode is also out! You can watch it on YouTube or stream it on one of your favorite podcasting platforms. A written version will be coming soon.
And while Selene and I were at a local Italian market, we stumbled across the most gigantic panettone I’ve ever seen.

I had to include my hand for a size reference. And there were stacks and stacks all around of every flavor of panettone you could possibly imagine.
Panettone was not something with which I was familiar before meeting Selene… but now they’re one of my favorite treats during the holiday season. For those who don’t know, it’s basically a sweet, soft, and airy bread that is sometimes filled with fruit or other tasty things.
I’m also started to get some sunflower seeds! Check this out.

Can you see the seeds in there? This head gave me a few.

I honestly don’t know what to do with them, but I’ll figure it out. I’m waiting for another flower to fully drop, then I’ll harvest whatever seed goodies are inside.
That’s all for now!
Stay tuned for more!
