Medialunas, anyone? Weekly Recap 6/17/2024

I can’t tell you about the most delicious thing that I’ve ever eaten in my life. If I were trying to answer that question, honestly, I wouldn’t even know where to begin.

What I can tell you about, however, is the most delicious thing that I’ve eaten recently.

Selene and I spent some time hanging out in Northwood over weekend. There’s a little Argentinian bakery that we’ve heard about for at least a year, but finally decided to give it a try.

This was a wonderful little family-owned place. I wasn’t sure what to expect, really, but we got one of their medialunas and it was simply delicious. If you’ve never had one before, don’t worry, I’ve included a picture for reference.

Coffee and medialuna

I also got some avocado toast, but let me tell you that the medialuna was certainly the star of the show.

Selene will vehemently disagree with me, but the flavor and texture, in my opinion, is somewhere between a croissant and a donut. It’s buttery, sweet, and delicious.

And baked fresh. You can’t beat that.

I think we’ll be back this coming weekend for more.

Good morning and happy Monday, friends.

It’s been a hard recovery week post Summer Magick, but you can read all about it in my festival recap article.

I’ll be talking to Jack Chanek soon. That’ll become M3 Season 2, Episode 2, which I’m pretty excited for! Keep an eye out for some early access to this coming out on Patreon soon.

We strained the Florida water that we made last month into spray bottles.

It smells GREAT! And our entire house smelled great. In this process, I think I’m learning a lot about solubility. Perhaps I’ll share some of those thoughts soon. We were going to use the discarded herbs as potpourri, but they were so sticky and full of oils and goodness that we decided to do a second wash with alcohol. I’ll let you know how that turns out next month.

Speaking of Florida water, I showed a little of it in a short video. I also made a couple other shorts: one of Christopher Penczak and one of Nathan M Hall. What can I say? I’m still quite a bit behind in my video editing, but that’s okay!

Aside from everything above, I’ve just been writing. A lot. Books take a lot of words.

And in mundane news, we saw Inside Out 2. I was not a fan.

Stay tuned! There will be more coming soon.
