Writing prompts are pretty hit or miss, right? Don’t worry — thousands of bloggers across the world will still unite in answering a daily question, even it’s a lackluster one.
Can you reduce a day to one priority? Not really. Each day usually consists of several, mundane tasks on a long list that has to be done.
But there is one thing that sets Mondays apart from other days for me. And that just so happens to be what you’re reading right now — this weekly recap post where I answer a silly prompt question and review what I’ve been working on for the past seven days.
So how do you like that? It’s 1:34am and I’ve already accomplished my number one priority for the day. What else will I do with the other 22.5 hours that I’ve got left?
Good morning and happy Monday, friends!
This past week, as you may have already seen, I finished and posted Part 2 of the Fluid Condenser series. I’ve also outlined parts 3 and 4, so at this point we can at least be sure there will be four installments.
I’ve booked the next couple of guests for M3. If you don’t know them already, go ahead and check them out!
- October: Oracle Hekataios
- November: Coby Michael
I’ve got a new mic for these upcoming interviews — a Blue Yeti X — so I’m hoping to up the audio quality by a significant degree. I also upgraded to macOS Ventura 13.6 so I can use Continuity Camera, which will let me natively use my iPhone camera as an external video device.
Have you ever noticed that you’d have to drop $500-1000 in order to get a camera that can beat the iPhone’s? When Selene and I got our phones, I remember the sales rep trying to sell us on the video quality… and I said something like “yeah, I never take videos of anything.” Of course, at that point, I had zero plans of ever posting anything on YouTube.
I’ll be toying around with better recording techniques. Since the video picture quality will be higher, I may have to actually learn to light things properly.
October is a busy month for things. Here’s a little peak at what’s coming up in the realm of local festivals:
- Autumn Meet by Phoenix Festivals: October 11 – 15
- FPG Samhain: October 25 – 29 (Did I mention I’m playing at this one?)
