There’s lots to be excited for about the future. We might not have any control over the past, but the future is pretty much a blank slate. As long as your goals are realistic, you can pretty much accomplish whatever you desire!
By “realistic,” of course, you have to choose something that can be broken down into a series of small steps. You obviously can’t say “my goal is to win the lottery” and then just instantly get rich. I mean, maybe you can, but I’ve never figured out the right magickal spell for that one. Most importantly, you have to be willing to put in the right amount of work so that you’re slowly getting closer to your goal every day.
If we’re talking near future, something that I’m very excited about would be my book. As many of you already know, I’ve been writing about fluid condensers for the past year and it’s all becoming a book! Almost every day, I spend copious amounts of time frantically slapping my keyboard, inching my way closer to a ginormous word count goal. Slow and steady wins the race!
Yeah… sometimes I do feel like a turtle. Sometimes it feels like I’m not making as much progress as I want to, but all of these small steps are going to add up to a big accomplishment.
And after this book? It’d be awesome if I could write another one.

It was a pretty great week. Selene had a few days off work for July 4, so we got to spend some extra time at home together. Considering how non-stop everything has been for the past few months, it was a welcomed respite.
I made a short video to check in with Sally the Squirrel and naturally it became one of my top performing shorts of all time. The important thing is that Sally and I are developing a closer friendship.
I also made a video and post that explains a bit about how royalties work in the music industry. I filmed myself opening my very first royalty check for a whopping $2.20.
We got a shipment of books approved for a prison in Arkansas. We were also able to send them a box of composition notebooks so that the Wiccan inmates have something to use as a Book of Shadows. They’re all scheduled for delivery later today, so that definitely feels like a small accomplishment.

To celebrate America’s birthday, Selene and I went out to a local Peruvian restaurant and had some delicious food. When we got back home, we lit a few sparklers. I tried to trick Selene by giving her a “malfunctioning sparkler” that was actually a stick of incense, but she was too quick for me. We ended up doing a lap around the neighborhood with it and were joking that we were smoke cleansing our community.
One of these things is not like the other…
On Saturday, we headed out to a volunteer visit at prison. Our local facility is giving us a little bit of issue with donated items at the moment. They just transitioned to a new assistant warden — apparently the last guy’s final act was to instate a blanket policy that prohibits food and beverages unless it’s an official holiday. That makes it a little difficult to do cakes and wine for circle, so we’re going to try to give that some push back.
I’ve started drafts on a couple different topics that I find interesting. One of them is an introduction to Sacred Geometry via the Platonic Solids. I made another short video that highlights Nathan Hall discussing music in ritual from Season 2, Episode 1. Go and check it out if you like!
Selene and I are also making Kyphi. For the past couple of weeks, we’ve been acquiring a long list of ingredients. Yesterday, we started soaking some raisins in wine. It’s going to be a long process, but I’m excited for the results and I’m sure I’ll be talking about this more later.
