Actually, that’s just a Ralph Waldo Emerson quote.
You know who told me that? AI did.
AI is really good at certain things. For instance, it also gave me similar quotes:
- Proverbs 12:14: “Well-done work has its own reward”
- Fredrik Backman: “A job well done is a reward in its own right”
- Arthur Conan Doyle: “The work is its own reward”
But let’s talk about what it’s not good at… like the image it generated for me, which is heading this post.
When I think of “hard work,” I rather instinctively visualize a hammer hitting a nail. I’m not sure why I have that exact association, but I do… so I tried that as the prompt.
“Hammer hitting a nail.”
First of all, apparently that’s what AI thinks a hammer looks like.
Secondly, that’s a screw.
I guess if you were trying to drive a screw with a tiny, lopsided hammer… well, that really would be hard work, wouldn’t it?
