A short and self-reflective question today… what am I good at?
Of course, my first inclination was to just write the word “brevity” and then be done with it. That would have been funny, right?
Because I’m also good at humor.
See what I did there?
But seriously…
I’m pretty good at listening — not in the way you would think, though. What I mean is that my ear can differentiate between very particular frequency ranges. In audio engineering, we call this “selective hearing.” It’s useful when you’re trying to adjust an EQ or mix an audio recording. I hear things that most people aren’t even aware of.

On Wednesday last week, I once again had to brave my crippling fear of going live. I hopped on Christiana Gaudet’s channel and we had a chat about runes. This will be the first conversation of many! You can catch the replay here if you’d like.
I posted the written highlights for David Shi’s interview. I also added a new book review to my YouTube channel. And a new podcast episode was released yesterday.
Selene and I went out for a little date on Saturday and had some snacks.
For a drink I had some strawberry mocktail thing, which was actually really good. And I guess the strawberry theme continued because our dessert was a strawberry shortcake tres leches — what a combo!
On one of our walks, we encountered this magnificent patch of mushrooms that popped up just about instantaneously after a brief rain shower.
Someone commented on my instagram post and told me it is Lentinus Crinitus. Fascinating!
And finally… I made friends with a lizard.
Well, I think that just about sums up my week.
