The right ritual—with the right people—can feel like home.
This is a fairly common description, actually, when folks talk about finally finding the right spiritual practice that finally clicks for them. They say, “It felt like coming home.”
It’s like you’ve been traveling your whole life, sleeping in strange hotel rooms, then one day you walk in your own front door and go to your own bed. There’s comfort, warmth, and familiarity that you almost didn’t know was missing until it was right in front of you.
Do you have that in your spiritual practice? I hope you do.
Good morning and happy Monday, friends!
We’re back from Swamp Mystics! Made some new friends, attended some cool workshops, and… sold a bunch of books!
All things considered, it was a really great weekend. The property was absolutely beautiful and everyone was really nice. A big thank you to Erich and Alannah Brown for putting the event together. Give me a few days and I’ll try to write a short festival recap post… and then you can read all about it!

I’m also pretty grateful that the weather held out. About an hour into the drive home, it started to storm really hard. The roads were flooding!
It was a pretty long drive to and from Tallahassee, so we decided to stop at Disney Springs on the return trip. Not quite a halfway point, but definitely a welcome break. We tried a new restaurant there—well, it’s not new, but it was new to us. It wasn’t great… and we will probably never be going back… but here are some pics of the food anyway!

The best part of the experience was a little side quest to obtain a Dole Whip.

Earlier in the week, we got some much better food! Sushi!

I had planned on uploading some sort of video this past week—maybe a book review or something—but my schoolwork spontaneously expanded to fill all of my available time. I very narrowly finished enough of it in time to have my fluid condenser presentation ready!
My draft manuscript (which will become Runes Rediscovered) has finally moved to Weiser’s “accepted” phase. That means edits are coming, which is scary, but also fantastic that the process is moving forward. I can’t wait to have this next book out for everyone to see.
And it is at this point that I’m going to politely excuse myself from reality for the next three months. If you aren’t immediate family or coven, you’re probably not going to see me. I’m literally drowning in homework, and I’m not quite sure how to manage it. All I know is that I can become The Hermit and hopefully get it all done.
Don’t worry. I’ll still be over here writing updates.
Oh… and remember y’all… spelling counts. But Jeses loves you anyway.

That’s all for now, but stay tuned for more soon!
